Dr. Dan Pinar, DDS
Personal Statement

When I was a kid, I hated going to the dentist. And confession time - I actually still do. What that means for you is that there is no one who will be more sympathetic and gentle than me.

I value your time as if it were my own. You will be seen promptly at your appointed time.

I am an absolute believer of conservative treatment. Keeping dental work small and conservative may take a little longer, but it always gives the best results.

And I realize that going to the dentist can be a little like bringing your car to the garage – who knows if your car needs all the work they say it does. I expect that anyone I give advice to will find a second opinion, and I’m confident they’ll get the same recommendation. Our success is only sustainable when it’s in the best interest of all parties involved.

Brief Bio

Before moving to West Hollywood, Dr. Dan Pinar owned and operated his own dental practice in Nyack, New York, about 20 miles outside of Manhattan, for eight years. One of his ‘calling cards’ has long been his gentle demeanor in the office, which has translated into strong loyalty; patients have repeatedly told him that their visits to his office have been the best dental visits of their adult lives.

He provides the highest quality of care in all of the specialty disciplines including restorative, endodontics, and cosmetics. Whether your need is implants to replace missing teeth, veneers to improve your smile, teeth whitening, a root canal or anything else, Dr. Pinar’s experience and care will help guide you through the process.

Before embarking on his professional career, he was born and raised in a small town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. After eight years at the University of Michigan, he moved to New York City where he spent eleven years. He arrived in Los Angeles in January 2009 seeking a warmer climate, friendlier faces and new challenges.

Dr. James McFadden, DDS

Dr. McFadden was born and raised in Michigan where he did his undergraduate studies at Michigan State University and received his Bachelor of Science degree in zoology in 1975. He then went on to graduate at the top of his class from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry receiving his DDS degree in 1979. During his dental studies he was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, an honorary dental society for superior achievement in dentistry. Upon graduation he received an award from the American Academy of Periodontology for excellence in periodontics. Having become a proficient clinician as a dental student, he was asked to stay on as a clinical instructor in the dental school, which he did for two years. In 1982 he left Michigan and continued his dental education by completing a much sought after general practice residency program at the Wadsworth Veterans Administration Hospital in Westwood California.

In 1983 Dr. McFadden established his private dental practice in West Hollywood where he continues to provide excellent service to the community. Over the years he has honed his skills in providing lifelike cosmetic restorations to improve his patient’s smiles. The confidence, experience and friendliness of Dr. McFadden and his staff enables them to provide gentle dentistry utilizing state of the art equipment and the latest techniques available today in a relaxed and comfortable environment. He uses nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and oral sedation, along with music or TV with stereo headphones, which allows him to help patients who shy away from the dentist due to anxiety.

Professionally Dr. McFadden is active in the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association and the Los Angeles Dental Society. He serves as president of the Southern California Dental Guild study club. In his free time he enjoys gardening, painting and carpentry. Having grown up near Lake Huron he enjoys many water sports like sailing, windsurfing, swimming and scuba diving. During the winter he is an avid skier and snow boarder. He also spends time bike riding, in-line skating, and hiking with his dog Will in Runyon Canyon.
